Wart Treatment And Removal
There is a long list of different over the counter and prescribed medicines for the treatment of warts, but here are few remedies and removal options that we recommend.
Cryosurgery
This involves the freezing of the wart either usually using a strong cold agent like liquid nitrogen, there is also a over the counter freezing agent you can use which is a Dr. Scholl’s product. When you go to have your warts removed by a professional, this is usually the method most doctors will use in order to remove the warts from your body. Cryosurgery is the most common of methods, for is results in very little pain for the patient, and is relatively quick, and removes the warts on the first try.
Imiquimod
This is also a over the counter treatment, it is a hand cream in which you rub on the wart and after about a weeks worth of application you should see dramatic improvement. Imiquimod is mostly used for home treatment of warts, and wart removal. These hand creams are one of the most common used for home treatment, the hand cream is also proven to work, but the only downside to this is it mostly takes 6-12 days of repeated application for you the see any improvement.
Cantharidin
This is also a very widely used remedy, this is a chemical found in many beetles around the country in which if you squeeze out of the beetle should help the process of the wart removal. This beetle is usually found in wide forest like areas. In most cases many people would not know what the beetle would look like, (there are alot of different kinds of beetles out there) but it is black in color and relatively big in size, and when you squeeze the juices from this insect onto the wart it is said to help in the removal of it, cantharidin is one of mother nature’s natural remedies.
Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid is another very common treatment, a widely used blistering agent that basically burns the wart off of the skin and usually works in one treatment. This treatment is also another common between professionals (doctors) that remove the warts for you. This is usually concentrated into a tube like cylinder to where the doctor may squeeze out some of the solution onto the patient skin where the wart has appeared. This treatment may result in a little more sensation for the patient, but overall tests show that after the procedure is done the wart should be gone for good.
Keratolysis
This is another over the counter drug that is used in wart removal, it uses the Salicylic Acid talked about above but in a more concentrated version, in which it burns the wart off of the infected skin. This method of using the Salicylic Acid is for the home use of the medicine, applicants should always consulate there family doctor before using any method of wart treatment, for it may not be the best way for the patient. This method is a over the counter concentrated solution for home use in which you squeeze out the solution on the skin, and should burn off the wart from your skin.
Duct Tape
Here is another treatment you can use which involves household products, you should bind the duck tape over the wart for a minimum of six days, and then remove with water. This is the most discussed treatment out there among home treatments. Duct Tape is discussed by doctors to not be able to work among home treatment, but by tests Duct Tape does seem to work. Amazingly the acid within these adhesive tape kills the bacteria inside the wart where the infection sits, and usually within 6-14 days of leaving the tape onto the wart, the wart should be gone. Yet leaving the duct tape on you for this long period of time would be highly irritating, and we suggest going with the more fast methods, and less irritating.
