The following are pictures of the more common types of warts. These include hand, plantar, vaginal, genital and anal warts. Obviously, some of these pictures may be graphic. Illustrated images are used where possible.

This is a picture of the most common  hand warts caused by the HPV. These warts can also appear on the feed and are called plantars warts. They are usually the same color as the skin and feel usually feel rough to the touch, though they can also be smooth and dark.

These occur most commonly among children, young adults and women. Warts can be transmitted from one person to another and they can travel from one part of the body to another.

Some people are more prone to getting warts than others, it really depends on the immune system. The warts virus can penetrate the body more easily if the skin has been damaged, for example those biting fingernails are more likely to get warts on their hand.

Here is a picture of vaginal warts on a female. These fall under the same category as genital warts, also known as venereal warts or condylomata acuminate. Notice the clusters of small warts around the vagina where they have been transmitted by sexual intercourse.

These warts are the very same wart that occurs in male genital warts on the penis, and can spread to places other than just the vagina. There is no cure for this strain of the human papillomavirus, it will remain in the body forever and the only treatment is to keep outbreaks at bay.

This is a picture of male genital warts, on the penis. These warts are also transmitted by sexual intercourse, and sometimes appear in clusters around the tip of the penis.

While genital warts can be annoying and embarrassing, fortunately they are not medically dangerous. Same as vaginal warts, as explained above, there is no cure for male genital warts and the only options include containing the outbreaks.

Here is a picture of warts that appear around the anus these warts also appear in clusters, yet these are somewhat different they focus around the hole of the anus, and this is mostly where the warts will appear.

Anal warts, medically known as condyloma, first appear as tiny blemishes as small as a pinhead and often grow larger cauliflower like appearances. Anal warts can be pink, yellow or light brown in color. Most people who are infected do not even know it, as warts are rarely are painful. In most cases anal warts are transmitted sexually.
